Moms Chicken Curry

Srilankan inspired


  1. Place the chicken in a pot on med high

  2. while the chicken is cooking put all ingredients in the pot except the coconut milk

  3. once all the ingredients are in the pot turn the chicken mixing the ingredients gently

  4.  let it cook for 10 min Uncovered

  5. rotate chicken every 10 min till fully cooked

  6.  Cook down Juice until thick and full of flavor. should be about 1 1/2 cups of gravy

  7. mix gently turn off fire and add coconut milk if desired ;)

Serve with Hot rice and a lime flavored salad

Notes from the Chef

You can Garnish with fresh jalapeno for spice or cilantro if you want that complimentary green without the heat. I serve this dish with hot rice and a tomato onion salad. I also make dahl which you can find on the blog soon ;)

This meal is perfect for all seasons and always impresses with the abundance of flavor and flat out delicious taste! Even the kids will LOVE it!




  • 4.5 lbs chicken thigh and or drumbsticks

  • 1/2 tablespoon Tumeric

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 3 cloves garlic minced

  • 1 tablespoon crushed ginger

  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 1/2 tablespoon paprika

  • 1 lime squeezed

  • 1 medium Onion

  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamom

  • 1 tablespoon minced Parsley

  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Cumin

  • 1 1/2 tablepoon coriander

  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala

  • 1/2 can Coconut milk (optional) this makes the dish have a more creamy exotic taste which I love <3
